Brandon Hansen Founder & Resident Expert

Brandon Hansen, a second-generation painter, carries forward the legacy of his father, Conrad Hansen of Conrad Hansen Painting & Decorating in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Trained both in the classroom and the field, Brandon approaches each project with meticulous planning, steady execution, and a keen eye for detail. He thrives on collaborating with his team to bring transformative visions to life for homeowners and businesses alike.

A Legacy of Service

Rooted in a family rich with military service, Brandon’s commitment to excellence is influenced by his stepfather, US Army Col. Michael David Kershaw, and his mother, US Army SSGT Jennifer Kershaw. Jennifer was born in Abilene to US Air Force Col. Earl Connors and US Air Force Lt. Ann Connors during their tenure at Dyess Air Force Base.

From San Antonio to Abilene

Growing up in San Antonio, Brandon was immersed in a vibrant culture of rich colors, robust Mexican cuisine, and authentic Texan music. While studying at the University of Texas at San Antonio and painting during summers in Minnesota, he was recruited into Sherwin-Williams’ management training program. Rapid promotions led him to manage larger stores in Waco and eventually Abilene, which he has called home since 2014. After contributing to the launch of other local painting businesses, Brandon founded Hawk Painting in 2020 with the mantra: “Have fun & do cool stuff!”

Family and Community

Brandon is blessed with his wife, Katie, and their four energetic children. Their family life revolves around Legos, church activities, and dance.

Katie Hansen Residential Project Manager

As Hawk Painting grew, Katie stepped in to help her husband, Brandon, with the family business. Her role includes scheduling estimates, assisting in paint color selections, assigning a Crew Leader to each project, and overseeing the project from beginning to end. Most importantly, Katie is a liaison for our clients throughout their project.

Alongside the aforementioned tasks, Katie also collects deposits, confirms color choices, sets tentative start dates for projects, performs mid-project check-ins with crew leaders, and presents the finished project to the client. Her office tasks are varied, but more often than not, she will be making phone calls on the company’s behalf to gather information or schedule a meeting. We are very thankful for all the great work Katie does for Hawk Painting!
